Jerusalem: After Delmicron, Israel reported the first case of florona disease- a simultaneous coronavirus and flu infection. The first case was reported in Petah Tikva city, in a woman who recently delivered at Rabin Medical Centre.
As per the reports, the pregnant lady was unvaccinated and presented mild symptoms of flu and COVID-19 pathogens. Health officials are yet to determine the characteristics of the new species detected.
Earlier on Thursday, the country’s health ministry Thursday authorised a fourth vaccine shot for people with weakened immune systems to help confront rising Covid cases driven by the highly infectious Omicron variant. The approval comes after anti-Covid weapon arrived in the country- the first shipment of Pfizer’s anti-Covid pills. An El Al flight from Belgium landed in Tel Aviv carrying a shipment, which Prime Minister Naftali Bennett hailed as an “important addition to the arsenal in the war against the pandemic.”
Israel on Thursday reported more than 4,000 new cases, a high not seen since September. Israel was one of the first countries in the world to offer a third shot to the general public. So far, 4.2 million people out of a population of 9.4 Israelis have been jabbed against the virus.
