The Israeli Air Force said on Tuesday that it struck terror targets and military infrastructure of the Hezbollah terrorist organization in Lebanon. The military has raised the figure to 199 people confirmed abducted by Hamas to the Gaza Strip in the militant’s cross-border attacks which sparked a devastating war.
Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden will visit war-ridden Israel on Wednesday, Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced in the early hours of Tuesday in Israel. According to Blinken, Biden’s visit comes at a critical moment for Israel, the Middle East region, and for the world.
Further, the United States and Israel have agreed to develop a plan that will enable humanitarian aid from donor nations and multilateral organizations to reach civilians of Gaza.
Earlier on October 7, Israel declared war on the Islamist group a day after waves of its fighters broke through the heavily fortified border. Shooting, stabbing, and burning killed 1400 people, most of them civilians. Israel then unleashed a bombing campaign on Gaza that has flattened neighborhoods and left at least 2670 dead.
As soon as the war was declared, the Indian Embassy in Israel began working a rescue operation for Indians stranded in the country. Ministry of External Affairs launched Operation Ajay to bring back Indians.
