Iran claimed on Wednesday that its attack on Israel was “finished” unless it experienced further aggression. The Iran-Israel war threatened to worsen after Iran fired at least 180 ballistic missiles following the recent assassination of former Hezbollah commander Hassan Nasrallah. The assault on the Israeli military installations was meant to hit three targets, which Iran said were in response to the country’s aggressive action. It was an attack on military objectives only.

Speaking in a post on X (formerly Twitter), Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said: “Our action is concluded unless the Israeli regime decides to invite further retaliation. In that case, our response will be far better and much more potent than what we would offer now.”

The invasion by Iran of Israel happened during a time when the Middle East region has been bleeding volatile and is straining up for more conflict following Israel’s armed forces attacking Lebanon and Gaza, which led to the assassination of some major militant figures associated with Hezbollah. Tehran rang up its missile strikes, citing the killings as the reason that it had to act in defense of its interests and allies in the region.

Israel and its primary partner, the United States, have moved to threaten Iran and its president. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu himself said from a shelter in Tel Aviv on the situation of the war in Israel: “Iran made a big mistake tonight — and it will pay for it.” Netanyahu further threatened immediate reprisal regarding the missile attacks. At the same time, USA President Joe Biden said that he provided “unwavering support to the right of Israel to protect itself” and added that Iran’s strikes were “largely ineffective”.

That puts the U.S. on notice that Iran will fight back militarily if they continue to support Israel. This was an indirect threat of war if America were to go to war for Israel. The GAM was stated that “any Israeli response would lead to the great devastation of Israelis infrastructures”.
