At least 12 persons have been killed in an airstrike by the Israeli forces on a school operated by the United Nations in Gaza, the Hamas-run health ministry of the besieged region said on November 4.
In a separate incident, about 15 people were killed and 60 injured after Israeli troops struck an ambulance that was part of a convoy at Gaza’s biggest hospital, Al-Shifa, the Gaza health ministry said Friday.
Over a dozen persons have died and several more have been wounded in the air strike on the school, Mohammad Abu Selmeyah, the head of al-Shifa Hospital, was reported as saying.
At least 9,488 Palestinians, including 3,900 children, have been killed in Israeli strikes on Gaza since October 7, the Hamas-run health ministry in the territory said on Saturday. Over 1,400 Israelis were killed in the October 7 Hamas attack and over 240 have been taken hostage in Gaza.
Earlier on November 2, In a continuing escalation of the Israel-Hamas conflict, heavy airstrikes have once again struck the Jabaliya refugee camp near Gaza City for the second consecutive day. Israeli forces have advanced toward residential areas of the city. While Hamas reports Palestinian casualties, Israel claims to have targeted militant leaders within the camp. This conflict has now entered its 25th day, leading to some foreign nationals and seriously injured Palestinians being allowed to leave Gaza.
Ever since the first attack on October 7, an estimated 3000 Palestinians from Gaza who were working in Israel when the war started had been forced to return to the enclave. Thousands were believed to had gone missing amid a campaign of mass arrests after October 7.
Israeli human rights NGO Gisha has issued a statement calling for the release of Gaza workers who were detained in Israel during the recent war. The statement comes after the Israeli cabinet on Friday decided to return the workers to Gaza.
