With rising tensions and ambivalence emerge-ancing on the part of the United States, as seen fittingly, Iran has put a strict condition on resumption of the diplomatic and nuclear talks. On Sunday, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister, Majid Takht-Ravanchi said Tehran will not resume negotiations with Washington unless the U.S. excludes the option of a military action in the future.
Appearing in one of the news agencies, Ravanchi noted that the Trump administration has not come up with straightforward position concerning the future attack on Iran territory. No date is agreed on. Ravanchi said, We have not reached an agreement on the modality. At this moment we are asking ourselves a question, whether we will observe the repetition of act of aggression as we are talking.
His remarks follow after reports that the U.S had shown interest in reentering the negotiation table through intermediary nations. There has however been uncertainty concerning whether the U.S will take no additional military action throughout or at the end of such talks.
The most recent development is the rising tension which is caused by the move taken by Washington to undertake a targeted bomb on the Iranian nuclear plant at Natanz, Fordow and Isfahan. The Iranians responded by retaliation with Iran-made rockets attacks on the American bases in Qatar and Iraq. The tension again escalated and was about to erupt when U.S President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire between Iran and Israel briefly halting all clashes.
Irrespective of this cessation of violence, the President Trump still has been very aggressive in public, saying, “I am not talking or giving anything to Iran, which virtually closed the door, at least in the present moment, of any re-engagement with the Iranian diplomats.”
This standoff between Washington and Tehran comes at a time when the region is already tensed by the animosity between Israel and Iran and therefore, it is becoming a big concern on what will be ahead of nuclear diplomacy and stability in the region.
