Tensions have flared in West Asia following the US and Israel’s joint attack on Iran. Iran has launched attacks targeting US and Israeli bases in Gulf countries, further exacerbating the situation. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has now clarified that Iran will no longer attack any neighboring country. He has also apologized for the attacks carried out so far.

“The country’s provisional leadership council announced yesterday that there will be no more attacks or missile launches against neighboring countries. This will remain in effect as long as the attacks on Iran are not carried out from the territory of that neighboring country,” Pezeshkian said in a televised speech. “I apologize to neighboring countries for the recent attacks. We have no intention of attacking them,” he added.

Pezeshkian, taking a firm stance on his sovereignty, said, “Those who dream of our unconditional surrender will take this dream to their grave. Iran is a peace-loving country, and the decision to halt military action was taken in the interest of regional stability.” According to experts, Iran’s softening stance may be due to international pressure and domestic circumstances. However, this decision opens the way to peace.

Earlier on Friday, US President Donald Trump said, “Iran must surrender unconditionally; they have no choice but to compromise. Once a great and acceptable leader is elected there, we and our many allies will take every necessary step to bring Iran back from the brink of destruction and make it economically bigger, better, and stronger than ever before.”
