The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has purported that a great many American military officers were killed in a massive drone and missile attack on the US-controlled Marines in the Persian Gulf. The state media in Iran said the operation (nicknamed True Promise 4) saw them attack six US landing craft utility (LCU) ships.
According to the reports provided by PressTV, the IRGC announced that its naval force held a hybrid operation based on home-made weaponry such as Qadr 380 cruise missiles. The attacks were reportedly aimed at the American troops, which were deployed close to the port of al-Shoyoukh, Kuwait, in addition to along the coast of Dubai and port. IRGC alleged that the attack caused heavy casualty on the US Marines as well as damaged military equipment.
The Iranian leaders also claimed that three of the targeted ships were sunk, and the other ships were left badly damaged or burning down after the attacks. The operation was said to be a retaliatory action because there was tension in the region.
No formal confirmation or reply on the part of the United States military however has been received on these allegations. The casualties and damage have been questioned because they were not confirmed by a third party.
To further add to the story, the official social media page of the Iran Consulate in Hyderabad also posted a statement that reinforced the remarks of the IRGC saying that the US Marines were killed in large numbers during the attack. The phenomenon is still unfolding because the world is still interested in heightening tension in the region.
