India recorded 10,853 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry reported.
The recovery rate at 98.24 per cent accounted for 36,946 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,37,49,900. The daily positivity rate stood at 1.18 per cent, less than 2 per cent for the last 34 days.
The active caseload stands at 1,44,845 accounting for 0.42 per cent of the total number of cases. 2,105 active cases were reported in the last 24 hours, lowest in 260 days. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.34 per cent reported 526 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,60,791.
Moreover, the daily rise in coronavirus infections has been below 20,000 for 28 straight days and less than 50,000 daily news cases reported for 131 consecutive days now. While the Indian capital had zero fatalities, Russia’s Covid-19 cases hit another one-day record as the nation struggles to contain a wave of infections that has persisted for more than a month now. The national coronavirus cases in Russia were reported to 41,335, as 1,188 died on Saturday.
