New York: Now the users will need help finding information related to the funding of Media sources across Twitter. This happened after Elon Musk got involved in conflicts with the broadcasting companies, as they weren’t happy. Ultimately, Elon Musk decided to stop providing such information to the public.
Twitter had labels that described whether the organisation was Government Funded or affiliated with it. But on Friday, 21 April, Elon Musk removed these labels from the platform. This move was also a result of eliminating Blue legacy Tick marks. It means users will now have to pay a monthly fee to have the Blue Tick on their accounts.
Some of the media broadcasters will not be seen as verified accounts. Due to this reason, the media labels have also started a conflict against the Twitter platform. A few media labels suspended their Twitter account in response to this move by Elon Musk. Around 300 thousand celebrities lost their Blue Tick as they had yet to purchase the subscription.
Previously, the accounts on Twitter were verified by their recognition on various Social media platforms and their fan following. Now they will have to pay a monthly 8$ fee for the Blue Tick on individual accounts, and organisations have to pay for Tick marks starting from 1000$ monthly.
