Washington: Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, has recently announced that the platform will remove the accounts that haven’t been active for a long time. This means that the accounts which haven’t accessed Twitter for a couple of years, they’ll be removed from the platform soon.
The platform’s owner and multi-billionaire Elon Musk told us this through a tweet saying, “We’re purging accounts that have had no activity at all for several years, so you will probably see a follower count drop.”
Twitter has been in the headlines ever since Elon Musk bought the platform. Recently, many celebrities also lost their legacy Blue check mark, which was earlier a way in which Public personalities were identified, and scams were prevented. Twitter introduced this feature in 2009, and Elon Musk has now made it a paid feature.
Earlier in April, Elon Musk announced that the Media labels would be charged for verified ticks on their accounts. His tweet said, “Rolling out next month, this platform will allow media publishers to charge users per article with one click. This enables users who wouldn’t sign up for a monthly subscription to pay more per article when they want to read an occasional article.”
