Moscow: Russia has become the first Nation to complete a clinical trial of a covid-19 vaccine on humans which was successfully proven. The total number of coronavirus cases across the world has crossed the 13 million mark and the death cases has gone upto 5,70,000.
Russia first Nation to finish human trials
Vadim Tarasov, the director of the Institute for Translational medicine and biotechnology, said that the world’s first vaccine against coronavirus successfully completed testing on humans by Sechenov University. On June 18, the university began clinical trials of the vaccine produced by Russia’s Gamalei Institute of epidemiology and microbiology.
According to the Director of the institute Alexander Lukashev the objective of this stage of study was to show the vaccine’s safety for human health which was successfully done.
The vaccine is corresponding to the safety of those vaccines that are currently on the market ,the safety of the vaccine is confirmed, says Lukashev to Sputnik.
Lukashev further added that the later covid 19 vaccine research and development plan is already being determined by the developers research strategy also covering the complexity of epidemiology situation with the corona virus and they are trying every possibility of scaling up in the large production.
In this pandemic, Sechenov University played not only as an educational institution but also as a scientific and technological research centre which is continuously creating such important and complex products as a drug we worked with this vaccine and the clinical trials are currently underway, Tarasov noted.
