Kyiv: Explosions have been reported in Kyiv and Lviv, where it’s the early hours of Saturday morning. Air raid sirens have also been sounded across most of Ukraine, according to local reporters.

Zelensky in his nightly address on Friday announced the losses suffered by troops and revealed that 3,000 soldiers died while at least 10,000 were injured so far in the war with Russia, adding that it’s “hard to say how many will survive”.

The jarring number emerged shortly after Russia’s Defense Ministry promised to step up missile attacks on Kyiv in response to Ukraine’s alleged assaults on Russian territory shortly after their flagship loss Moskva.

Following the withdrawal of Russian force, Ukraine forces have discovered more than 900 dead bodies in the neighborhood of Kyiv. Most of them fatally shot, police said Friday, an indication that many people were “simply executed.”

Fighting continued in industrial areas and the port, and Russia for the first time used the Tu-22M3 long-range bomber to attack the city, said Oleksandr Motuzyanyk, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.

Moscow meanwhile, continued preparations for a renewed offensive in eastern Ukraine. Fighting also went on in the pummeled southern port city of Mariupol. The northeastern city of Kharkiv, reportrd death of seven people, including a 7-month-old child, and injuries to 34, aftee shelling of a residential area where 100 buildings with airstrikes in Bryansk, a region bordering Ukraine were sabotaged.
