Beijing: A Eastern Chinese commercial flight carrying 133 passengers crashed in southwest China lighting up a mountain with fumes. So far no casualties are known reported local media broadcasters.
“The Boeing 737 plane crashed in the rural countryside near Wuzhou city, Guangxi region and “caused a mountain fire”, CCTV said, citing the provincial emergency management bureau.
Boeing 737 flying towards Guangzhou departed from Kunming at 1.11 pm local time (0511 GMT) as per flight data tracker.The flight tracking ended at 2.22 pm local time (0622 GMT) an altitude of 3225 feet with a speed of 376 knots officials confirmed. It was not immediately clear which variant of 737 was involved in the accident.
China Eastern operates multiple versions of the common aircraft, including the 737-800 and the 737 Max.Local media reported that China Eastern flight MU5735 had not arrived at its scheduled destination in Guangzhou after it took off from the city of Kunming shortly after 1:00 pm (0500 GMT) Monday, citing airport staff.
The twin-engine, single aisle Boeing 737 is one of the world’s most popular planes for short and medium-haul flights.
China, master in Aviation Safety reported its latest aircraft accident in 2010, when 44 of 96 people on board were killed when an Embraer E-190 regional jet flown by Henan Airlines crashed on approach to Yichun airport in low visibility.
