The Canadian government has lifted a month-long ban on passenger flights from India to Canada. The direct flights shall resume from tomorrow. The Canadian government said on Sunday, “as of September 27, 2021, direct flights from India to Canada will resume”.
With this, the passengers from India will now be able to travel to Canada following a few precautionary measures that include a negative COVID-19 test report from an approved laboratory. The statement by the Canadian government further added that the negative COVID-19 report must be taken not more than 18 hours prior to the departure from the approved laboratory at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, Delhi.
Air India will resume flights to Canada from September 30, while Air Canada is expected to resume flights from September 27.
The ban was put in keeping in mind the enhanced COVID-19 protocols. Earlier on Tuesday, Canada extended the restriction on all commercial and private passenger flights from India until September 26.
