Britain: The British Govt on Thursday witnessed a record rise in infections second day in a row. As per the fresh stats, 88,376 fresh coronavirus cases were logged amidst fear of Omicron sprawlling across the country.

Health officers across the region have raised an alarm on the striking rise on a daily basis. The UK Health Security Agency reports to have documented another 1,691 Omicron cases which rose the tally to 11,708. The lastest additiom took the cumulative count of infections to 11.1 million, while the UK also registered a further 146 deaths from the virus, taking the death toll to almost 147,000.

England Chief Medical Officer, Chris Whitty speculates a surge in hospital admissions due to COVID-19 through the winter. The CMO issued a warning on Wednesday that “phenomenal” case numbers mean doctors and nurses will inevitably get sick, pushing businesses off the trail.

Authorities have put in tigther restrictions, mandating masks at indoor public places. Several cities have shut down public transportation. While many are back home working from their personal desks, hospitality industry of the country wished to have a Christmas unlike last year.
