Boston: Captain Jamie Frederick of the US Coast Guard gave an update on search efforts for the missing submersible in Boston. In a brief statement, he said that some of the remote-operated vehicles involved in the search had been relocated in an attempt to determine the origin of the sounds.

Pakistan’s most wealthiest businessman and his son, British Mogul Hamish Harding are some of the passengers identified on the submersible along with the two crew members.

Earlier on Wednesday, the coast guard reported that a Canadian surveillance aircraft looking for the Titanic submersible and the five people on board in North Atlantic has detected some underwater noises in the search area.

A tourist submarine that was taking passengers to see the wreckage of the Titanic has gone missing in the North Atlantic, sparking a major search and rescue operation. The submarine, which is operated by Ocean Gate Expeditions, a company that deploys manned submersibles for deep sea expeditions confirmed that it is exploring and mobilizing all options to bring the crew back safely.

The Canadian Coast Guard said that the rescue operation was being managed by the Boston Regional Coordination Center and a map showing jurisdictions for the various coastal search and rescue agencies off the North American coast shows the location of the Titanic wreck.

The submersible used for the expedition usually carries a pilot, three paying guests, and a content expert. The vessel weighs 10,432 kg and according to the Ocean Gate Expeditions, it can reach a depth of up to 4000m and has 96 hours of life support available for a crew of five.
