New Delhi: The year 2020 brought along with it many disasters amongst which the coronavirus pandemic is the most dangerous disaster that shook the entire world. After originating in China, it slowly started to mark its presence in other countries and India was not far behind.
In April 2020, when India confirmed only 600 corona positive cases and around 13-14 deaths, our PM called for a lockdown of the entire nation. Despite that, the total corona positive cases today stand at an approximate 1.02 crores mark.
Though the recovery rate still instills hope in us, the number of new cases every day is enough to send down jitters in our hearts. With almost 20,500 confirmed cases in the last 24 hours (as reported by WHO) chances are still that we are prone to the risk of getting infected every day.
The total death tally touches the mark of approximately 1.5 lakh and the states being most affected include Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and 3 states of the south- Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka.
The worldwide coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases count topped 82 million. In total 82,709,354 cases and 18,05,035 deaths have been recorded all over the globe until now. Europe is the worst-hit region followed by the US, Canada, Latin America, the Caribbean and Asia.
