SUDAN: On Wednesday, the United Nations said that over 3 billion US dollars will be needed to help the Conflict affected Sudan. More than a million people escaped from the country during the battles between the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudan Army. This has led to the needs of the people living in Sudan rising to a huge extent.
Ramesh Rajasingham, who is the head of the Geneva Bureau of the United Nations, said, “Today, 25 million people — more than half the population of Sudan — need humanitarian aid and protection.” The battle started in the country on April 15 and led to a huge amount of destruction as thousands of people lost their lives.
The Humanitarian crisis in Sudan is now even worse. Earlier, every one out of three individuals was dependent on Humanitarian for their survival. The United Nations said that around 2.56 billion dollars are needed to assist the Sudan situation, which is higher than the 1.75 billion dollars expected last year.
Rajasingham also said that the funds will help to cure the most vulnerable people in the country. There are more than 18 million people who need medical assistance after the Sudan Crisis.
The Egypt military planes have also helped Sudan as they are constantly delivering Medical supplies to their neighbor. More than 81 thousand Sudanese citizens flew from Sudan to Egypt during the war. Egypt has played a vital role to help their neighboring country, Sudan to rise back from the conflict situation. Egypt’s Ministry of Health has also transferred many medical materials to Port Sudan.
Due to the war situation, the use of explosives in Sudan also reached its peak. Thousands of civilians have also been caught in this firing between the Sudanese Army and Rapid Support Forces. Shahden Hussain, a famous singer in Sudan, died as an explosive landed in her home.
