Kathmandu: After the coup and subsequent violence in Nepal, the army has now taken over the reins of the country. At present, there is no news of new violence in Nepal. Therefore, the situation in Nepal is gradually becoming normal. Flight operations have resumed from Kathmandu Airport. On September 10, Air India flight departed for Delhi. There were 123 Indian passengers on board. With this, the process of return of Indians from Nepal has formally started.

Air India and Indigo have been instructed to run additional flights so that Indians stranded in Nepal can return safely. Meanwhile, the army has extended the curfew in the country till Friday. So far 30 people have died in the violence in Nepal.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has directed Air India and IndiGo to run additional flights so that Indians stranded in Nepal can return safely. Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu said that regular flights will resume from tomorrow and airlines have been advised to keep fares reasonable.

After a temporary halt, operations at Kathmandu International Airport have now resumed. Nepal Airlines flight was the first to take off, while Air India flight was the first to land. Himalayan Airlines is also going to start its services soon. Officials say that the normal schedule will be implemented soon.

The Nepal Army has imposed new curfew and prohibitory orders in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts. Limited movement will be allowed for essential work from 10 am to 4 pm. The curfew will be in force from 5 pm to 6 am the next day.

Earlier, ‘Gen Z’ protesters, enraged by the repressive actions of the K P Sharma Oli regime, set fire to government buildings, offices of major political parties, and the homes and offices of top political functionaries, including several former Prime Ministers, on Tuesday (September 9).

It came a day after 19 young protesters were killed in a firing by police in Kathmandu, with Nepal’s capital engulfed in flames, and the country appeared to have no government left. Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli resigned, and President Ram Chandra Poudel was at an undisclosed location under the protection of the Army.
