Former US President Joe Biden diagnosed with aggressive Prostate cancer
United States' former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has spread to his bones, the Democrat's office announced on Sunday, 18 May.
He was diagnosed with the disease after he experienced urinary symptoms, and a prostate nodule was found.
Prostate cancer receives a score known as a Gleason score that indicates, on a scale from 1 to 10, how closely the cancerous cells resemble normal cells.
Biden's office reported his score was 9, which means his cancer is amongst the most aggressive.
While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management.
Soon after the news US President Donald Trump said he was saddened by the development and wrote wishes for a fast recovery.
