Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri faces online abuse after ceasefire announcement
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri was subjected to vicious trolling on social media on Sunday, 11 May, after announcing that India and Pakistan had agreed to cease all military operations.
The IAS and IPS Association expressed solidarity with Misri, condemning the "unwanted personal attacks" against the officer.
Due to the abusive comments targeting his daughter, Misri was compelled to lock his public X accountÂ
Various member of parliament and opposition leaders condemned the social media trolling directed at Misri and his family.
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi also defended Misri describing him as a decent, hard working diplomat. He reminded the critics that civil servants work under executive direction and shouldn't be blamed for political decisions.
