First calm night along Line of Control following ceasefire announcement.

Tensions between India and Pakistan had been escalating since last month’s terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the Indian Army, the night of 11 May, remained largely peaceful across Jammu and Kashmir and other areas along the International Border.

The two countries were involved in intense firing for four days before agreeing to a ceasefire on Saturday, 10 May.

India and Pakistan reached an understanding to stop all firings and military actions on land, air and sea, with immediate effect from 5 pm on Sunday, 11 May.

The armed forces responded promptly to these violations.

Mr Misri stated that the forces have been directed to respond strongly with any instances of repetition of the violations along the International border as well as the LoC.
