Twitter account of Narendra Modi’s personal website hacked; Twitter effectively investigating

NEW DELHI: The Twitter account of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s  website was hacked on Thursday (September 3) morning. The hackers posted some obscure tweets subsequent to hacking the site. 

Twitter confirmed the hacking of PM Modi’s own site and said that it has taken “steps to secure the compromised account” and is “actively investigating” the situation.

“We’re aware of this activity and have taken steps to secure the compromised account. We are actively investigating the situation. At this time, we are not aware of additional accounts being impacted,” a Twitter spokesperson said in a statement.

The tweets, which are presently erased, asked PM Modi’s supporters to give to the PM National Relief Fund through cryptocurrency. 

It is to be noticed that the checked Twitter account (@narendramodi_in), which is connected to PM Narendra Modi’s own site, has over 2.5 million followers. PM Modi’s own Twitter account, in any case, was not hit by the break. The individual Twitter account of PM Modi has more than 61 million followers. 

It might be reviewed that Twitter accounts of numerous famous characters, including lawmakers, innovation monsters, big names and so forth, were hacked by some unidentified hackers in July. 

Twitter records of Warren Buffett, Jeff Bezos, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Bill Gates, Elon Musk and a few other realized names were penetrated and messages identified with cryptocurrency were posted on their accounts. 

Days after the penetration, India’s cyber security nodal organization CERT-In had given notice to Twitter looking for details of the global hack targeting high-profile users.
