Signatures on Indian currency notes
When Dr. Manmohan Singh was the Prime Minister in 2005, the Government of India issued a new Rs. 10 note. This note had Manmohan Singh’s signature. According to the rules at that time, the notes had the signature of the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. But at that time, Manmohan Singh’s signature was put on the Rs. 10 note as a special change. Actually, Dr. Manmohan Singh held the post of Governor of the Reserve Bank of India from 16 September 1982 to 14 January 1985. During that time, all the notes that were printed had Dr. Manmohan Singh’s signature.
