Mumbai: Actor Sunny Deol’s much-anticipated film, ‘Jaat’, got off to a decent start at the box office on April 10. However, the second day collection saw a drop in numbers. In two days, ‘Jaat’ has raked in only Rs 16 crore at the domestic box office. The film is now relying on the weekend to see if it picks up momentum.
Industry leaders were shocked with the ₹9.5 crore opening on a Thursday release. This is the second movie to suffer a similar fate in the same fortnight after the Salman Khan starrer Sikandar. Now, it turns out the movie is all set to enter its first official weekend since its release. Read on to know everything you should know about the same.
As per industry sources, the movie has already earned ₹0.12 crore as per the advance bookings for Day 3, which is the first Saturday since release.
Going by the trade reports, ‘Jaat’ recorded a maximum occupancy during the evening and night shows. Looking at the trend, the film is performing well in the NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Chandigarh and Lucknow.
‘Jaat’ is a mass masala entertainer featuring Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda in lead roles. Saiyami Kher, Regina Cassandra and Jagapathi Babu are part of the supporting cast alongside others. Jaat’ marked the Bollywood debut of Telugu director, Gopichand Malineni. The film released in theatres on April 10 and received mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike.
