Bhopal: Two accidents of a wall collapse in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday claimed the lives of seven people. Out of them, six were children. The first out of the seven calamities took place in Gada Kasbe – Rewa district, where a raining wall in a school fell and killed 8 school children and a woman. Four school children and the woman perished, while locals pulled four other children. The children were in transit from school to their homes when disaster struck. The wall broke down, and it fell near the gate of the school; it evoked a lot of concern among the inhabitants of the area. From the deceased, three were children from the same family.

The two culprits, Ramesh Namdev and Satish Namdev, the owners of the dilapidated house, are faced with arrest regarding this incident. Rewa’s Additional Superintendent of Police, Vivek Lal, further affirmed that the suspects were arrested and underscored the importance of holding persons in capacities such as theirs accountable. Regarding the unfortunate event, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, posed grim sorrow and dismay. He said that the state government will provide the families of the dead victims Rs 2 lakhs each to help them in this unfortunate stage of their life.

In another case, in Rampura village, a family house of Gadarwara tehsil in Narsinghpur district killed two children of a family due to the collapse of the house due to heavy rains. Its aftermath was also linked to the injury of five other persons. This has occurred as a result of the very bad weather that has persisted, which has worsened the structure frailty of most of the houses in the area.

Many authorities are investigating both untimely incidents to ascertain causes and to guarantee that all the necessary procedures are taken to prevent such catastrophes in the future. The local administration is also concerned with delivering the needed assistance and means to the families of the victims.
