Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann addressed the media while being hospitalised in Chandigarh’s Fortis Hospital. During his media address, the chief minister explained the key decisions taken by the Punjab Cabinet today in lieu of the flood situation in the state. He announced;
- Approval of the ‘Jisda Khet, Ushi Ret’ scheme to give the right to sell the sand accumulated in the fields of farmers due to floods.
- Compensation of Rs. 20,000 per acre will be given for the crops destroyed due to floods.
- Financial assistance of Rs. 4 lakh to the family members of those who lost their lives during the floods.
- Approval of the creation of 1600 new NGO posts in the Punjab Police.
Haryana Chief Minister Naib Saini met Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann admitted in Fortis Hospital, Mohali and enquired about his health. During this time, Saini did not talk to the media. Earlier, many ministers of the Punjab government including Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab in-charge and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, had also met CM Mann and enquired about his health.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is admitted to Fortis Hospital due to ill health. According to doctors, he was admitted after complaining of weakness and low pulse rate. His health is now improving. His health deteriorated after visiting flood-affected areas on September 2. The next day AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal met him at the CM residence in Chandigarh.
After this, on September 5, when his condition worsened, he was admitted to the hospital. Manish Sisodia said that on Saturday evening his pulse rate suddenly dropped to 44, after which he was immediately taken to the hospital. His condition deteriorated due to an electrolyte imbalance.
