Rome: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Rome today to attend the upcoming G20 Summit. In the afternoon, he will pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. This is the third foreign visit by PM Modi amid the COVID-19 pandemic after Bangladesh and United States. He is expected to call Pope Francis in the Vatican city during his two-day visit.
“Landed in Rome to take part in the G20 Summit, an important forum to deliberate on key global issues. I also look forward to other programmes through this visit to Rome”, tweeted the Indian Prime Minister.
As G20 Summit ends on October 31, PM Modi will depart for Glasgow to attend the 26th Conference of Parties (COP-26) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC). It is expected that India will come out with a detailed document on its stand at the COP-26 in the form of a booklet. India will be launching its own ‘Climate Tracker’ developed by MS Swaminathan Research Foundation in Chennai and the Naitonal Institute of Advanced Studies at the Indian Institute of Science Campus in Bengaluru.
