PM Modi Visit in Kanpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Kanpur today on May 30th. During his visit, he will dedicate five thermal power plant units from Khurja, Obra, and Jawaharpur to the region. The event will take place at the Chandrashekhar Azad Agricultural and Technology University (CSA) ground, where he will also address the public. Security is tight for the Prime Minister’s arrival.

With these projects, the availability of electricity in Uttar Pradesh will increase, which will help in meeting industrial and domestic needs. Khurja Super Thermal Power Plant located in Bulandshahr, is a coal-based supercritical power plant with a capacity of 1320 MW which is operated by THDC India Limited.

At the same time, the Obra Thermal Power Station with a capacity of 1660 MW in Sonbhadra comes under Uttar Pradesh State Electricity Generation Corporation Limited. While in Etah, there is a supercritical Jawaharpur Thermal Power Station with a capacity of 1320 MW. Which is operated by Jawaharpur Electricity Generation Corporation Limited.

In view of the PM’s visit, CM Yogi Adityanath had also inspected the venue. During the inspection, the CM instructed the officials to ensure arrangements such as parking, drinking water, cleanliness, and urinals for the program scheduled for May 30. He had ordered to run a special cleanliness campaign to keep the roads clean and remove bushes. This has been implemented with immediate effect.

Earlier on May 29, PM Modi visited Sikkim and hailed it as a model of development and a vibrant symbol of cultural richness. This remarkable journey underscores the state’s significant strides in various sectors, contributing to the larger narrative of a “new India.”

The Prime Minister emphasized the crucial role of improved connectivity in Sikkim’s growth trajectory, specifically mentioning the Atal Setu. This infrastructure marvel has significantly enhanced links between Sikkim and Darjeeling, facilitating smoother movement of people and goods, and thereby boosting economic activity. This improved accessibility is not an isolated incident but part of a broader vision for the entire Northeast. As PM Modi stated, the region, including Sikkim, is now a “shining chapter” in India’s development story, reflecting concerted efforts to integrate these geographically strategic states into the national mainstream.
