Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Singapore on Wednesday and received a warm welcome from the Indian diaspora as he reached a hotel in the morning. As the crowd performed to welcome him to the country, PM Modi tried his hand at dhol and showed off his skills.
Cooperation in the semiconductor field will be a key emphasis during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Singapore, as India seeks to become part of the global manufacturing hub for the critical technology.
In terms of de-risking and improving supply chain resilience, Singapore is being seen as a safe bet in the era of US-China rivalry.
Upon his arrival at the Changai airport from Brunei, he was welcomed by the Indian High Commissioner to Singapore Shilpak Ambule, and Singapore’s High Commissioner to India Simon Wong among other officials.
Earlier in the day, taking to his social media platform X, PM Modi said, “Landed in Singapore. Looking forward to the various meetings aimed at boosting the India-Singapore friendship. India’s reforms and the talent of our Yuva Shakti make our nation an ideal investment destination. We also look forward to closer cultural ties.”
