MUMBAI: Mumbai’s PMLA court on Wednesday granted bail to Shiv Sena leader and MP Sanjay Raut in connection to involvement with the Patra Chawl Scam. As per reports, Raut served a sentence of three and a half months at the Arthur Road Jail in judicial and furnished a bond of Rs 2 lakh for the bail today.
The court had earlier reserved its order on the bail after hearing arguments from both sides on October 21.
The ED in its reports mentioned that Raut had received Rs 1.06 crore from co-accused Pravin Raut. The amount it alleges was received by the Shiv Sena MLA as proceeds of crime (POC) of Rs 112 crore that Pravin Raut received from the alleged sale of Floor Space Index in the project.
The ED’s probe pertains to alleged financial irregularities in the redevelopment of the Patra Chawl and related financial transactions involving his wife and associates.
