New Delhi: As the nation was busy looking at what the budget brought for them, CBI informed the Supreme Court today that the NEET UG 2024 paper was leaked on May 5, on the day of the exam. While hearing the matter, Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud proposed awarding full marks to those who had marked Option 4 as the correct answer to the controversial question in the Physics part and not deducting any marks from those who had marked Option 2.
It is crucial to note here that the Physics exam was significant as 44 toppers of the undergraduate entrance exam were awarded grace marks for it. Any decision taken for that matter had the potential to overhaul NEET UG 2024 ranks.
Solicitor General of India, Tushar Mehta shared centre-wise data to establish that there was no inflation in the number of candidates who were getting medical admissions in comparison to the previous year. While the solicitor general pointed out that there are no inconsistencies even in Hazaribagh and Patna.
Earlier on Monday, CJI Chandradhud had ordered IIT Delhi to provide an expert opinion on the ambiguous Physics question in NEET UG 2024 for which NTA had given two answers, resulting in grace marks for students.
