Bhopal: Gopal Bhargava, BJP’s senior most and 9-time MLA from Rahli in Madhya Pradesh, took oath as Protem Speaker on Thursday. Governor Mangubhai Patel administered the oath to him at 11 am in the Raj Bhavan. Meanwhile, the winter session of the new assembly will start from December 18 and will run till 21st December.
The winter session of the 16th Assembly will start from December 18 and continue till December 21. In which new MLAs will be sworn in and the former Speaker will be selected. After the Protem Speaker takes oath, a notification regarding the session will also be issued today. The swearing in of MLAs will also begin from December 18. Protem Speaker Gopal Bhargava will administer the oath to the newly elected MLAs.
The former president will be selected during the winter session. After which the post of Protem Speaker will automatically end. After which the former Assembly Speaker will conduct the new Assembly session. The election of the Assembly Speaker will be held on 21st December. In which the MLAs will elect the Speaker. This time the assembly session is going to last for 4 days.
