The situation started on November 5 when the Bandra police station got a call from someone threatening Shah Rukhh Khan and asking for ₹50 lakh ransom money. The threat was towards the actor’s home in Bandra, which led to the police filing a case against the caller under sections 308 and 351 of the Indian Penal Code. Police inquiries quickly revealed Faizan Khan as the caller. He located him in Raipur, where he was arrested.

Contended that Khan’s mobile phone had been taken without his consent before the alleged call, insisting it was a plot against him. The defence believes that the previous complaint could have been used to set up Faizan Khan by placing a call from his phone.

Faizan Khan, the Lawyer, earlier said that his phone had been stolen by the time the call was made and objected to the allegations put against him. He further went on to objecting the deer hunt in Shah Rukh Khan’s movie, saying “If a Muslim says something about hunting deer, it’s condemnable. That’s why I raised an objection.”
