Bengaluru: The last leg of the campaign for the high-profile Karnataka assembly elections 2023 is set to end at 5PM today. The poll bound state has witnessed some of the star campaigners from all three major political parties; Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress, and JD(S) holding road shows and mega rallies in a bid to woo the voters.

The Congress had its central leaders; Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rahul Gandhi focus on local issues. Whilt the BJP focused on national issues and achievements of union government, whule PM Modi centering the stage with the concept of a double-engine government. The JD(S) ran a localized campaign anchored by H D Kumaraswamy with party patriarch Deve Gowda joining despite of ailments.

Meanwhile the Election Commission has urged all political parties to go for a ‘clean and serious’ campaign. As the election campaigning reached a fever pitch with politicians hurling barbs such as ‘vishakanya’, ‘poisonous snake’, and so on. The EC in its advisory to political parties has stated that no party or candidate should publish any advertisement in print media or poll day and one day prior without clearance from the media certification and monitoring committee.
