Raipur: Former BJP MLA Lal Mahendra Singh Tekam, who was also the King of the Dondi Lohara royal family in the Balod district of Chhattisgarh, took his last breath at a private hospital in Raipur yesterday.
He was rushed to the Raipur hospital yesterday at late night after he fell severely sick but could not be saved. According to the sources, he had been unwell for quite some days.
The former MLA had been suffering from severe cough and cold. He had been getting his treatment done in Rajnandgaon. But when his ailment turned into a serious malady during the late hours of yesterday, he was rushed to Raipur for further and better treatment.
Lal Mahendra Singh Tekam was a descendant of the Dondi Lohara royal family. The BJP leader had been the former MLA of the zone. His wife Neelima Singh has also been an MLA earlier. Lal Mahendra Singh Tekam lost in the 2018 elections.
It is noteworthy that the former MLA lost his son last year. Since then, he had been consecutively sick. All the BJP leaders have expressed their condolences on the demise of the former MLA.
