Farmers’ Protest: Union Agricultural Minister Meets Bharatiya Kisan Union Leaders at Krishi Bhawan

New Delhi: The Union Agricultural Minister Narendra Singh Tomar invited the Bharatiya Kisan Union leaders at Krishi Bhawan to hold a talk on the new farm laws that they have been protesting against for almost a month. Along with the BKU leaders, members of Kisan Sangharsh Samiti were also present in the meeting. 

According to Gurmeet Singh, a member of Krantikari Kisan Union, the farmer leaders attended the meeting to discuss the next plan of action. Farmer leader Kulwant Singh Sandhu revealed – “In today’s meeting, it was decided what decision will be taken on the proposal sent by the Centre”. 

Meanwhile, a group of protestors in Ambala city, Haryana, showed a black flag to the Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar, when his convoy was passing through the city. As per the sources, “Some of the farmers allegedly tried to block Khattar’s motorcade but police managed to provide a safe passage to the Chief Minister.” The Haryana CM arrived at Ambala to attend some public meetings regarding the civic body polls ahead. 

Protesting farmers at the Ghazipur border open one way of the road, on which a commuter remarked – “Reopening of this road is convenient for us as we are able to save some time”.
