New Delhi: Delhi Government is preparing a plan to convert the historical monuments of Delhi into Dream Wedding Venues. These historical monuments will be given on rent for weddings and cultural events. If the plan of Rekha Gupta Government is successful, then soon events can be organized at places like Tiny Memorial, Dara Shikoh Library, Ghalib Haveli and Qudsia Garden in Delhi.

Approximately 80 monuments will be included in this initiative. The Delhi government plans to allow selected historical buildings to be booked for private events. The government has also announced security and GST relief measures.

According to a senior official, several monuments under the Delhi Archaeology Department have been included in the plan. These include historical sites like the Mutiny Memorial (Northern Ridge), built to commemorate the soldiers martyred in the 1857 Revolution, the Dara Shikoh Library at Kashmiri Gate, and the Tomb Pak near the GTK bus depot.

The list also includes a Lodhi-era tomb in Sadhna Enclave, considered an example of early Indo-Islamic architecture. The pavilions at Qudsia Garden, built in the 18th century by Qudsia Begum, wife of Emperor Muhammad Shah, could also be included in the venues. The remains of Lodhi and Sayyid-era walls and tombs in Vasant Vihar, Ghalib Haveli in Chandni Chowk, and the Bara Lao Ka Gumbad (a 14th-century traveler’s rest house) could also be included in the plan.
