New Delhi: India records 3,511 Corona related deaths in a single day, raising the total number of fatalities to 3,07,249. The Union Health Ministry confirmed 1,95,810 new infections across the country in the past 24 hours, considered as the first drop in the count since April 14. A drop in the active count was also reported from 27,16,362 to 25,81,682. 3,26,855 recuperations were reported by the MoHFW.
Worst Hit state Maharashtra logged 22,122 corona cases and 592 mortalities taking the death toll to 89,212. After Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh have the highest number of infections. Karnataka, the second state worst-affected, added 25,311 new cases. Capital Bengaluru logged 5,701 infections, slightly lesser than the previous day’s count.
Tamil Nadu health bulletin observed a slight dip in daily deaths and infections. As per the documentation, 34,867 fresh cases and 404 deaths were reported. In the meanwhile, neighbouring Kerala recorded 17,821 new coronavirus cases amid a decline in testing. 196 Covid-linked deaths were reported today, the state’s highest single-day count. announced the extension of restrictions from the said date. The National capital reported a drastic drop in its fresh cases logging only 1,550 infections.
As the nation is struggling against the COVID-triggered black fungus, AIIMS Chief Randeep Guleria on Monday warned against the “confusion” created by giving fungal infections different colours based on how they infected the body.

According to Health ministry data, India’s Cumulative Vaccination Coverage exceeds 19.84 Crores (19,84,43,550)
- 1st Dose: 15.51 Crores (15,51,44,087)
- 2nd Dose: 4.32 Crores (4,32,99,463)
Meanwhile, The Centre has promised more doses of vaccines for the states in the next 72 hours. All this looks very promising, but there seems to be no coherent policy on the national level to vaccinate the 133 crore Indians.
