Voting for the 2026 Rajya Sabha elections for two seats in Chhattisgarh is scheduled for March 16th.
The nomination process will be completed on March 5th from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Vidhan Sabha building. Given the numerical strength, both the Congress and the BJP are expected to win one seat each. The Congress has made its position clear by re-nominating Phulo Devi Netam, while the BJP has nominated Laxmi Verma.

Netam (54), who hails from Kondagaon district in Bastar region, was first elected as a legislator in 1998 in the undivided Madhya Pradesh assembly. After the formation of Chhattisgarh in 2000, she became a member of the state’s first legislative assembly. Netam has been serving as the president of the Chhattisgarh Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee since 2016 and has held several key organisational positions in the party.
