Assam: The Assam Police recovered a heritage luxury watch that belonged to late legendary Argentinian footballer Diego Maradona from an individual identified as Wazid Hussain. CM Himant Biswa took to his microblogging handle on Saturday to inform about the recovery. His tweet read- In an act of international cooperation @assampolice has coordinated with @dubaipoliceHQ through Indian federal LEA to recover a heritage @Hublot watch belonging to legendary footballer Late Diego Maradona and arrested one Wazid Hussein. Follow up lawful action is being taken.
According to the DGP, Wazid had fled from the state after stealing the watch and was reportedly caught in Dubai in coordination with the native police personnel. “As informed through Central Agency by Dubai Police, one Wazid Hussain had stolen a limited edition Maradona signed Hublot watch and fled to Assam. Today morning at 4:00 AM we arrested Wazid from his residence in Sibsagar. The limited-edition watch has been recovered from him,” the DGP informed through his Twitter handle.
As per the preliminary investigations, it has surfaced that the accused stole the luxury watch while he was employed as a security guard for a company that held the late football players belonging in Dubai. The accused has been taken into custody and will be subjected to legal atrocities officials involved in the case reported.
