Kanker: As  India reels with the loss of 20 soldiers in the Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese Army. The Indian Army, has released the list of 20 martyrs who sacrificed their life on the India China border. One among them was 27 years old Ganeshram Kunjan who hailed from Kanker, Chhattisgarh.

Here’s the list of 20 martyred soldiers with names

Ganeshram Kunjam (27), hailed from Kutrutola-Gidhali village of Charama block in Kanker district in the Bastar region of the Chhattisgarh state.

Kunjam, who belonged to a down at heel financial background, joined the Indian Army after completion of his class-XII in the year 2011. Last month, he was posted in Galwan Valley.

As per the information, Ganesh Ram was severely injured in the violent clash occurred between India-China border troops on Monday night. He was admitted to the hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to injuries during treatment.

“We received the news of his demise on Tuesday evening from the army headquarters. We couldn’t believe it. His family members had spoken to him a month ago when Ganesh informed us that he would soon be joining a new posting along the China border. Since then we couldn’t connect with him,” said his paternal uncle Tiharu Ram Kunjam. 

Tiharu Ram informed that Ganesh Kunjam was to get married later this year. He was about to come to Kanker for marriage. Although the wedding date was not finalized due to Coronavirus, he added.

Army officials informed the jawan’s uncle the body of the martyred jawan will be sent to the ancestral village by Thursday evening.

According to the Kanker district administration, the jawan’s last rites will be performed with full state honours on Thursday after the mortal remains are brought by air. 

Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh home minister expressed his condolence and solidarity with the bereaved family on the martyrdom of Bastar youth in India-China border.
