New Delhi: The first full budget of the third term of the Modi government was presented today by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The Aam Aadmi Party government of Delhi has alleged that the people of Delhi have been cheated in the Union Budget. Atishi said that despite Delhi paying a tax of 2.32 lakh crores, the BJP-led central government has not given even 1 percent of its share to Delhi in this budget.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) held a press conference to address Delhites. Minister Atishi called the budget a deceptive one. Atishi said that this budget is going to dash the hopes of the people of Delhi. Like every time, the BJP-ruled central government did not give the people of Delhi their rights in this budget as well. Atishi said that the demand of the people of Delhi regarding this budget was that 5% of the tax that is given to the central government should be given to the Delhi government. The people of Delhi did not get anything on that demand.

Delhi has been depositing Rs 207000 Crores as income tax revenue and Rs. 25000 crores as GST collection. Despite, this Delhi government has received no tax allocation in the union budget.

Atishi said that the people of Delhi also demanded that just like the local bodies of other states are given financial help, the MCD in Delhi should also be given some money from the budget. Atishi said that we had demanded that MCD should also get a 5 percent tax so that the people of Delhi can develop. But MCD did not get even 1 rupee in the budget of the central government. Contrarily, the share of taxes worth Rs. 124000 crores were allocated to civil bodies across the nation.
