Bhojipura: A horrific accident occurred in Bhojipura area of Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly on Nanital Highway, late Saturday night. There was a collision between a dumper and a car last night near the Bhojipura police station, resulting in tragic death of all eight passengers in the car including a child.
The accident was so severe that both the vehicles caught fire, in which the driver of the dumper escaped, but eight people in the car were burnt alive, including a child. The occupants of the car were reportedly returning from a wedding ceremony in Bareilly.
At 11 pm on Nainital Highway, a car going from Bareilly towards Bahedi suddenly went out of control and collided with a speeding dumper coming from the other side across the divider. The collision was so fierce that the dumper and the car caught fire. After the car stopped, the driver of the dumper escaped, but the people in the car did not get a chance to get out and were burnt to ashes while sitting.
On information from passersby, police and fire brigade vehicles reached the spot. Efforts to extinguish the fire in the car and dumper were immediately started. After the fire was extinguished, only the skeleton was left in the car. Police investigation revealed that the car belonged to Sumit Gupta, resident of Ramlila Mohalla of Bahedi, which was booked by Furkan of Narayan Nagla village to attend the wedding ceremony.
According to the information, the car that was the victim of the accident was a private vehicle, which was being driven by its owner Sumit Gupta on booking. At the site of the incident, the car was found to have a white high security registration number plate, whereas there is a provision for yellow number plate for booking vehicles after registering them in a commercial vehicle. RTO Enforcement Dinesh Kumar Singh said that instructions have been given to take action in the matter.
