Consumer electronics maker Samsung on Saturday said it has received 2.1 lakh pre-orders for the latest seventh generation of its foldable smartphone series within 48 hours of its launch in India.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 sports a 200 MP main camera along with a 12 MP ultrawide which acts as macro too and a 10 MP telephoto lens. The cover screen holds a 10 MP selfie lens while the inner display front camera has been increased to 10 MP.

Samsung, which last week launched Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 FE smartphones, said this huge number of pre-orders signals “huge consumer demand and excitement for the brand’s seventh generation of foldable.

“The wait is over! The future of #GalaxyAI is unfolding right here at Galaxy Unpacked. Stay close to this megathread for all the first impressions, experts’ reviews and can’t-miss product breakdowns! Which product are you hyped to see more reviews of?”, wrote Samsung on X as it announced its launch.

The highly anticipated Galaxy Z Fold 7 boasts an impressive 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display, offering a stunning visual experience with a peak brightness of 2,600 nits and a smooth 120 Hz dynamic refresh rate. When folded, users can interact with a vibrant 6.5-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover display, featuring the same exceptional brightness and refresh rate for seamless usability. Durability is a key highlight, with the cover screen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, while the phone’s rear is fortified with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, ensuring robust protection for this cutting-edge foldable device.
