Popular Indian singer Daler Mehendi on Friday became the first Indian to buy virtual land in Metaverse platform PartyNite, India’s very own Metaverse and named it ‘Balle Balle Land’. The land will have the Daler Mehndi Store, which will sell merchandise as Non-Fungible Tokens or NFTs.

This comes months after Mehendi performed in Metaverse, becoming the first Indian to perform. Before him, singers such as Justin Bieber, Travis Scott and Ariana Grande have performed in the metaverse.

Mehendi inaugurated the land on the occasion of Holi, updates of which were shared through his Instagram handle. Earlier, in an Instagram post, he had asserted that all the future events and music concerts will happen in “Balle Balle Land.” The post further added that his virtual land will also have a special paintball arena and a Daler Mehndi Store.

He chose PartyNite to showcase the Indian metaverse to the world. For the unversed, the platform has been created by “Hyderabad based game studio Gamitronics with playable NFTs powered by blockchain.” It is a ‘digital parallel universe powered by blockchain where people can hang out in customisable avatars, meet new people as well as join parties and events. It also allows people to claim, mint and sell NFTs.
