Alphabet Inc’s video-sharing social media platform- YouTube was back online in the wee hours of Wednesday after the issues that disrupted the services were fixed that impeded video sharing on the social media platform.
“All fixed – you should now be able to log in, switch between accounts, and use the account menu & navigation bar across all services (YouTube, YouTube TV, YouTube Music, YouTube Studio) and devices,” YouTube tweeted.
Thousands of users across the world reported issues with YouTube on Tuesday night, with most of the outage reports coming from the US. Users in India also reported issues, but the outage seems to have happened between 12 AM (IST) to 4 AM (IST) in the wee hours of Wednesday. According to the company, users from different countries were not able to sign into their accounts, use the navigation bar, and other issues.
The outage tracker down detector reported about 10,000 outage reports at around 2 AM IST, with most people reporting issues with the YouTube website. According to its reports, 49 per cent of people reported issues with the website, while 18 per cent has issues with video playback. Around 33 per cent encountered difficulty in accessing the app.
Last week, food delivery giants Zomatao and Swiggy suffered a brief nationwide outage that was caused by an Amazon Web Services snag that many online platforms rely on
