Elon Musk’s X platform (formerly Twitter) has taken a major decision regarding obscene content. X has blocked 3,500 posts and deleted 600 accounts. This action comes a week after the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) wrote a letter regarding objectionable content. X will no longer allow objectionable content on its platform and will operate under government guidelines.

On January 2, the ministry of electronics and information technology (MeitY) wrote to X flagging what it called serious failures in preventing sexually explicit content. “The law of the land must prevail,” an official was quoted as saying.

Elon Musk’s X Content Policy

X (formerly Twitter), the social media platform of Elon Musk, one of the world’s richest people, has repeatedly admitted its content and promised to comply with Indian law. The central government took cognizance of objectionable content on X’s platform, prompting X to take action and block it.

X has blocked 3,500 posts and deleted 600 accounts. Sources say X will not allow objectionable content on its platform and will adhere to government guidelines.

This action comes a week after the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) flagged objectionable content on X (formerly Twitter). Controversy has been brewing over the past few days regarding pornographic content circulating on the X platform. Several accounts are generating pornographic content using Grok AI, which has drawn criticism from many.

What is the controversy surrounding Grok AI?

Recently, the pornographic image creation and editing feature of Grok has been in the news. It was being misused to generate pornographic content using AI-assisted images of women and minors. The government took this seriously.
