Madhya Pradesh: A visually impaired Madhya Pradesh based software engineer has received a job offer from IT giant Microsoft with an annual package of Rs 47 lakh.
Yash Sonakia, a 25 year old visually impaired boy earned his graduate degree from Indore-based Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science (SGSITS), a government-aided autonomous institute.
Sonakia in a media interaction said that he has accepted the proposal and will begin work from home in the first phase. Posted as a software engineer, Sonakia will take charge at the Bengaluru branch.
The 25 year old lost his eye sight due to glaucoma at 8 years. After completing graduation, Sonakia with the help of the screen-reader software started looking for a job and applied at Microsoft after learning to code. He cleared an online examination and cracked the interview.
