OpenAI ChatGPT Health Launch: Sam Altman’s company, OpenAI, has launched a new health information feature called “ChatGPT Health.” This feature will allow users to connect their medical records and fitness apps like Apple Health and MyFitnessPal to ChatGPT.
The company claims that this will help people better understand their illnesses, lab test reports, and fitness routines. Currently, a waitlist has been launched for this feature.
OpenAI stated in a blog post that approximately 230 million people worldwide ask ChatGPT questions about health and wellness each week. In response to this growing popularity, the company collaborated with doctors to design “ChatGPT Health.”
Its aim is to make people more aware of their health and better prepare them before visiting the doctor. The biggest highlight of this feature is its integration, allowing users to connect their medical data and wellness apps securely.
• Test Report Understanding: This will help you understand your recent lab test reports in simple language.
• Workout and Diet: Will provide diet and exercise recommendations based on your lifestyle.
• Insurance Advice: Will explain the pros and cons of different insurance options based on your health patterns.
Special emphasis on data security, data will not be used in AI training
Given the sensitivity of medical data, OpenAI has implemented strict security measures. According to the company:
• Conversations in the Health section will be completely encrypted and kept separate.
• This data will not be used to train AI models.
• Health chats will have a separate memory from regular chats, and users will be able to delete them at any time.
How to get this feature and where is it available?
Currently, users must sign up for a waitlist to access ChatGPT Health. Once accessed, it will appear in the ChatGPT sidebar under the heading ‘Health.’ Adding medical records is currently only available to users in the United States.
The company has also clarified that it will have the facility to give ‘custom instructions’, so that ChatGPT can understand what to pay attention to and what not to say.
